Monterey Bay...Gulf of the Farallones...and Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuaries... Strong northwest winds will continue across the coastal waters today as a storm system moves through the region. Gale force winds are expected over the northern waters through this afternoon. The strong winds will produce large/steep fresh swells that will impact the coast as well as the coastline. Winds will diminish on Tuesday as the storm system moves east. Moderately strong northwest winds will continue through the remainder of the week as high pressure builds in over the eastern Pacific. Swells will ease slightly during the second half of the week.
