The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
northeastern Shenandoah County in northwest Virginia...
western Frederick County in northwest Virginia...
east central Hardy County in eastern West Virginia...
southeastern Hampshire County in eastern West Virginia...

* until 815 PM EDT

* at 511 PM EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
very heavy rain capable of producing flash flooding. Radar
estimates that up to 2 inches of rain have already fallen across
portions of the warned area. Additional rainfall amounts of up to 1
inch can be expected.

* Some locations that are affected by the heavy rain include
Timber Ridge... Wilde Acres... Gore... Whitacre... Capon Bridge.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flash flooding of
small creeks and streams... roads and farmland along the banks of
creeks and streams.

Flash flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know
where you are relative to streams... rivers and creeks... which can
become killers in heavy rain. Campers and hikers should avoid streams
and creeks. Never try to cross a flowing stream... even a small one...
on foot.

... A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 600 PM EDT for
southeastern Grant... east central Pendleton... southwestern Hardy and
northwestern Rockingham counties...

At 430 PM EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated very
heavy rain capable of producing flash flooding. Up to 2 inches of
rain has been reported across portions of the warned area. Additional
rainfall amounts near an inch can be expected.

Locations in the warning include but are not limited to Rough
Run... brake... Landes... Oak Flat and Deer Run.

Flash flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know
where you are relative to streams... rivers and creeks... which can
become killers in heavy rain. Campers and hikers should avoid streams
and creeks. Never try to cross a flowing stream... even a small one...
on foot.
