... Flash Flood Watch in effect until midnight EDT tonight...

The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southeast Ohio and West
Virginia... including the following areas... in southeast Ohio...
   Athens... Morgan... Meigs... Perry... Vinton and Washington. In
West Virginia... Barbour... Braxton... Calhoun... Doddridge...
Gilmer... Harrison... Jackson WV... Lewis... Pleasants...
Pocahontas... Randolph... Ritchie... Roane... Taylor... Tyler...
Upshur... Webster... Wirt and wood.

* Until midnight EDT tonight.

* A cold front is forecast to push through the area late this
afternoon and this evening. The ground is saturated from
previous rains over the past couple of days. An inch or more is
possible with the thunderstorms along the front this afternoon
and evening. This would be enough to cause flooding in most areas.

* Persons along streams and creeks should monitor water levels and
be prepared to take action.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
