... Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect for northwestern
Union and northeastern Colfax counties until 800 PM MDT...

At 734 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar continued to
indicate a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter size
hail... and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was
located over extreme northeastern Colfax County... or about 19 miles
northwest of Des Moines... moving east at 15 mph. Another severe
storm was located near Branson Colorado along the New Mexico
Colorado border.

* Locations impacted include...
a 35 Road in extreme northeast Colfax County...
State Road 551 near the Colorado border...

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Tornadoes can develop suddenly from severe thunderstorms.

If you are in the path of this storm... seek shelter inside a sturdy
building and stay away from windows.

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 8 PM MDT this
evening...
... Red flag warning in effect from noon to 8 PM MDT Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a red flag
warning... which is in effect from noon to 8 PM MDT Thursday. The
Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. A red flag warning
remains in effect until 8 PM MDT this evening.

* Area and timing... west Central/Northeast Highlands and middle
Rio Grande Valley as well as the Manzano/Sandia Mountains and
adjacent High Plains through early evening today and once again
Thursday afternoon to early evening Thursday.

* 20 foot winds... southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts between 35 to
45 mph. Strongest speeds will favor the high country with
lighter flows found within the Rio Grande Valley.

* Relative humidity... minimum values between 4 to 11 pct.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
field of this red flag warning.
