Now

inland showers and storms will gradually weaken toward sunset while Atlantic showers push towards shore... Scattered showers and storms along and ahead of the East Coast sea breeze producing very heavy rain over lake and western Orange counties will slowly weaken by early evening. Some locations in Northwest Lake County will pick up between 2 and 3 inches of rainfall from this activity. Bands of showers over the Atlantic will move west at 15 to 20 mph and push onshore the East Coast. During the late afternoon...the activity will weaken as it moves onto land...due to subsidence caused by the East Coast sea breeze... however this subsidence will weaken after sunset...which will give coastal areas a better chance for seeing showers move onshore tonight. A developing area of low pressure approaching the northern Bahamas is currently moving northeast at 20 mph toward the open Atlantic. The large rain shield associated with the low will remain well offshore the Florida East Coast. This area of low pressure is being monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation by the National Hurricane Center.
