Winter Storm Warning

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 3 am Sunday to midnight
MST Sunday night...

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a
Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect from 3 am
Sunday to midnight MST Sunday night. The Winter Storm Watch is no
longer in effect.

* Timing... scattered rain and snow showers late this evening into
early Sunday morning will turn to all snow late tonight. Snow
will become more widespread and continuous Sunday morning and
will continue through Sunday evening.

* Snow accumulation... 4 to 8 inches with locally higher amounts
toward the mountains north of Durango and Pagosa Springs.

* Visibility... 2 to 3 miles in snow dropping to 1 mile or less at
times during periods of heavier snow.

* Impacts... roads and highways will become icy and slick late
tonight. Travel may also be affected by reduced visibilities
as a result of the snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow are
expected or occurring. Strong winds and blowing snow are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
