Fire Weather Warning
Expires 6:00 PM EST on November 22, 2008

Statement as of 2:57 PM CST on November 21, 2008

... Red flag warning in effect from 11 am to 5 PM CST Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a red flag
warning... which is in effect from 11 am to 5 PM CST Saturday. The
Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

Temperatures will warm into the upper 40s to middle 50s
Saturday... relative humidities will fall into the upper teens
to lower 20s for much of the afternoon.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
gusty winds... and low relative humidity... will create explosive
fire growth potential. Outdoor burning is discouraged at this
time.

For additional information on the fire conditions... please
contact the Alabama forestry commission at
